Good morning, Beloved-
How is your weekend going? I hope you cleared your activities and made time for you! It’s still Sunday, so you have time to grab a languishing ½ hour or hour, all to yourself! Be brave; do it!
I’m moving today. I’m saying thank you to the lovely palm trees that have grace our lanai and thank you to the Tamarind tree that’s always full of birds and bees and life and thank you to this sweet condo across the street from the calm and clear turquoise Pacific, that has housed Ken and I for 19 months. We’re finally moving to the coffee farm!
I can’t tell you what a Brave New World this will be- we are completely off the grid, no electricity except for generator, which we don’t even have yet, and no running water (we use ‘catchment’ systems up here in the Hawai’i hills, so we have a 20,000 gallon tank that collects water). Ken got a deal on a propane fridge and I now have a wireless card for my laptop. We charge everything in the cars and actually have outlets that work off the car batteries. It’s really a cool deal.
It’s the weirdest thing, but I don’t mind at all. It is so beautiful here- we overlook 10+ miles of sacred coast where the dolphins play, and Pele is right above us at Muana Loa, the erupting volcano. Dynamic is the word. And peaceful. And quiet. I’ve grown weary of the town ‘noise,’ the emotional, mental, energetic static flowing around, which I’m very sensitive to. Ahhh, relief!
What does this have to do with you? Well, I guess, simplicity. Not that I even recommend that you go to my extreme (although it’s an adventure), but what can you do without and still be happy? What can your house do without and still be happy? Nothing wrong with your lifestyle, for sure. But do you ever wonder if all that stuff is part of what keeps you running at high speed most of the time? If you didn’t have to support your lifestyle and could scale back, would you have more time to enjoy the simple things in life?
Just a thought for you on this Sunday. I love you. You are brave and valiant in your greatest job on earth! May you stay in the flow of Spirit with your child(ren). May you feel the joy of the sun on your skin.
Yours in Parent Ease,
Lorraine
